Because when you love yourself, everything changes...

What is self-love to you? I used to think “yeah, loving yourself and really celebrating who you are and loving you was SO important”. It’s the crux of everything.

I even wrote my tag line as “because when you love yourself, everything changes” and for many years, that was my guiding light. Before I became a coach, I already knew that this would be my tag line one day. Yet when I actually became a coach, I questioned myself. I questioned if this was what I really wanted to be about. I thought there were already SO many coaches out there and self-help books on self-love. I was like, ‘how I am going be any different?’

And then I realised that self-love kind of had this annoying stigma around it. Like, okay we all know we should love ourselves, blah blah… everyone’s talking about it, you hear it all the time etc. So, I was like, ‘yeah, maybe it’s a bit too clique’. I don’t just want people to love themselves, I want people to really own their self-worth and authentic magic. I want my clients to embrace their uniqueness and be unapologetically them. I want to coach people to really believe in themselves, to stop seeking answers externally and really come home to themselves. I want people to know that they already have ALL of their answers within themselves, they just have to be willing to go within and then trust; trust in themselves. I want them to stop overanalysing everything, I want them to feel less anxious and more trusting. I want them to stop listening to their inner critics and instead listen to their loving voice of intuition. I want to coach my clients to create these subtle yet powerful changes within themselves.

Yet how do you describe that in one sentence?

Is it self-belief, is it self-confidence, is it worthiness, is it intuition, is it authenticity, is it courage, is it empowerment?

For me, self-love encompasses all of those. When you love yourself, you embrace your authentic magic, you are unapologetically you. When you love yourself, you believe in yourself, you are confident. When you love yourself, you own your self-worth, you know it is already innately within you. When you love yourself, you feel empowered.

Because when you love yourself, everything changes….
