Stop Trying to Find Your Purpose. Start Remembering Who You Are

I think we, as a society, have been asking ourselves the wrong question.

For years, we've been asking: what is my purpose? What am I meant to do? How do I find my purpose?

But what if your purpose isn't something you need to find? What if it's something you remember?

The Question We've Been Getting Wrong

The more I think about the work I do with clients, the soul work, the inner work, authenticity, self-trust, spirituality, soulful business, leadership, the more I realise so much of it comes back to one thing: becoming more fully yourself.

Not becoming someone new. Not creating some shiny, perfected version of yourself. But slowly peeling back the layers of who you were told you needed to be. The good girl. The people pleaser. The achiever. The perfectionist. The woman who needs everyone to like her. The version of you who compares herself to everyone else. The version who thinks she needs to have it all figured out before she can begin.

And underneath all of that, there you are. Your intuition. Your desires. Your gifts. Your creativity. Your magic. Your truth. Your soul.

Perhaps your purpose has been there all along.

Purpose Isn't a Job Title

I think sometimes we make purpose far more complicated than it needs to be. We think it needs to be a job title, a business, a huge mission, something impressive. But it's none of these things.

What if the thing you do is simply the vehicle through which your soul gets to express itself?

Maybe your purpose is helping people feel seen. Maybe it's creating. Maybe it's leading. Maybe it's mothering. Maybe it's healing. Maybe it's building something. Maybe it's making people laugh. Maybe it's asking the questions no one else is willing to ask. Maybe it's creating spaces where people remember who they are.

The vehicle can change. Your essence doesn't.

Why Self-Trust Matters So Much

Becoming more fully yourself requires you to listen to the quiet voice within you, even when it doesn't make sense, even when other people don't understand, even when your path looks completely different to everyone else's, even when you don't have the certainty you'd like.

It requires you to stop outsourcing the knowing. To stop asking everyone else who you should be. And to start asking yourself:

  • What feels true for me?

  • What makes me feel alive?

  • What am I naturally drawn towards?

  • What brings me joy and passion?

  • Who am I when I'm not performing for anyone?

  • What parts of myself have I been hiding, shrinking or abandoning?

And perhaps the biggest question of all: who would I be if I trusted that I was already enough?

This One Feels Close to My Heart

That's what I'm exploring in this week's episode of Sacred Soul, and honestly, this one feels really close to my heart. Because I don't think the work is about becoming someone extraordinary. I think the work is about becoming more you.

More honest. More embodied. More trusting. More alive. More aligned. More willing to let your soul lead.

And perhaps that's where purpose begins

Listen Now

If you've been feeling a little lost, disconnected, unsure of your next step, or wondering what you're actually here to do, maybe don't start by asking what you should do. Start by tuning inwards. Your soul might already know.
