Your Next Season of Growth Starts Here - Spring Equinox & Soulful Business

Welcome, sacred soul. Welcome to this sacred space where we talk about all things sacred and all things soul.

This episode felt like a timely one. We're about to have the spring equinox here in New Zealand in the southern hemisphere, and for those of you in the northern hemisphere, it'll be the autumn equinox. Either way, there's a beautiful opportunity here to pause, to reflect, and to do a little journaling.

For those of you in the southern hemisphere, this might look like a bit of spring cleaning. For those in the northern hemisphere, it might be more of a letting go, a releasing, a clearing. Either way, take this time to pause and reflect.

The Beauty Way

I pulled a few oracle cards for this episode from Rebecca Campbell's Inner Temple Oracle deck, and honestly, they summed up exactly what I wanted to share.

The first card was The Beauty Way, and I wanted to read a few of Rebecca's words directly because she sums this up so beautifully. Beauty is so much more than appearance or aesthetics. Beauty always has a deeper purpose, and it doesn't try to be anything other than what it is, which is why it takes our breath away.

Birth and death are beautiful. Love is beautiful. Friendship, growth, all of it. And all things that are beautiful have a tension within them. Perhaps it's this tension that makes them beautiful, because we appreciate how much of a blessing and a miracle they are when we witness them in their fleeting state, in that never to be seen again moment.

Beauty transforms the beholder through its brutal honesty. It activates the breath of life as we exhale in awe, and it brings us into the present moment. This card is a reminder to seek the beauty in this world and your life, and in turn, to create beauty wherever you go.

Balance Is a Moment, Not a Destination

I think this sums up the whole idea of the spring equinox, or the autumn equinox for those of you in the northern hemisphere. It's this beautiful moment in time where there's equal parts light and dark. This one moment where there's the exact amount of lightness as there is darkness.

It's a fleeting moment, a never to be seen again moment, and it's only a moment that this perfect balance of lightness and darkness occurs. From that moment onwards, for us in the southern hemisphere, the days get longer and the light comes in more. The opposite happens for those of you in the northern hemisphere.

Nature and the cosmos are always mirroring what we're navigating within ourselves too. It's this beautiful reminder that balance is not a destination.

Maybe you're striving for a perfect balance of time between work and motherhood, or life and business, or health and rest and all your passions and growth. But in actual fact, balance is one of those things we only experience moment by moment. It's a fleeting moment, not a destination. It's not that you're going to have everything in your life perfectly balanced and even and then you've arrived. That doesn't tend to happen that way, and it's going to change again in another moment.

Sometimes, when we're in pursuit of that perfect quote unquote balance, it's actually the pursuit itself that pulls us out of balance and causes more tension and friction than there needs to be. I hope this is the reminder of the equinox: it's this perfect balance, but it's only a moment.

Spring Cleaning: The Letting Go

Let's talk about the spring cleaning process a little more, because there's real gold in it. Not just literally cleaning your house, dusting off the cobwebs and clearing out the fridge, but on a spiritual and energetic level too.

I pulled a few more cards for this part, and the first one is letting go.

This is the first thing we need to do, and it's important not to skip it. What are some of the things you're holding onto in your life or your business that you know have got to go? Maybe it's no longer in alignment. Maybe it's been hanging around for a while and needs clearing. Maybe there are some loose ends to tie up, an inbox that needs cleaning out, an Instagram profile that needs decluttering, story highlights that need condensing, a project that's almost there but needs that final push.

Maybe it's a relationship or a friendship. Maybe it's a decision you just need to make so you can move forward. What is it for you? What do you need to let go of, release, or say goodbye to? This works whether you're in the northern or southern hemisphere, spring or autumn.

Coming Back to Alignment

The second card was alignment, aligned versus misaligned, and we got the aligned version.

So what is in alignment with who you truly are? Alignment is so important as we move forward into this next season, whatever that season looks like for you. It's about making decisions from a place of truly honouring our most authentic selves, our truth, our soul, and the soul of our business.

Once we've done the releasing, the clearing out, the letting go and tying up loose ends, we can start thinking about investing and depositing into our dreams, our soul work, our purpose, our sacred leadership.

We're deleting the word should and the word shouldn't here. We're making decisions from a place of love, from our intuition, from our truth, from our heart space, from our soul. Your soul always knows. Your intuition always knows. For some of you, that might take a little work, quietening the mind, the ego, the racing thoughts. Maybe it's a short meditation, some stillness, or sitting with paper and pen to journal it out.

What Are You Tending To?

Once you've done the letting go and come back to what's in alignment, the next question is: what am I ready to tend to and bring to life in this next season?

For those of you in the southern hemisphere, think about your inner spring. What's budding? What's coming to life? What's unfolding? What is your heart calling you to do? Some of the seeds you planted in the past are coming into fruition now, but they need to be nurtured, just like nature. We water our plants, we might fertilise them, we love on them. What are the things you need to feed your dreams?

If you're in the northern hemisphere, it'll be the reverse, your inner autumn. What are you most proud of? What are you still loving and tending to in this next season? Perhaps there are seeds you're sowing now, knowing they'll be nurtured through winter and will come to life eventually. You're laying the foundations, nurturing, loving on them.

A little of what's coming to life for me this season: I've booked into a Crystal Sound Bowl certification training, and I've invested in a new mentorship starting in October around spirituality and spiritual gifts, which I'll share more about soon. A big part of this next season for me is about visibility, showing up a little more after what's felt like an autumn and winter season in my own world and journey.

Give Yourself This Gift

Mother Nature has this beautiful way of mirroring so much of what we're navigating internally, in our businesses and our lives. It's wonderful, in our human experience, to have these reminders and reflections from nature, the seasons and the cosmos, showing us what we need to learn, embrace and embody.

This is a beautiful time to pause and reflect. I'd love to encourage you to spend some time, even fifteen or twenty minutes, half an hour if you can, an hour if you've got it. Carve out time with paper and pen and journal through some of this. This is the time to do it, ideally soon after listening, but it's just as good a little later if that's when you have the space.

Give yourself this gift, because it is one. Get clear on what you're letting go of, what needs releasing, clearing out or decluttering, to make space for the new offers, ideas and creations you want to bring to life. Come back to alignment, to your truth, your soul work, what your intuition knows is right and true for you. No shoulds. No shouldn'ts. Just your truth.

Then start thinking about what you want to tend to. How are you nurturing the seeds you've planted? How are you bringing to life the ideas, creations, gifts and experiences you want in your soul work, your business, your life?

And remember the overarching message of beauty: it's all around you, it is you, and you've just got to open your eyes to see it. But it exists because these are never to be seen again moments. The equinox of equal light and darkness is a moment of balance, of equalness, and that's exactly what makes it wonderful. As Rebecca Campbell shared, there is often tension in the things that are beautiful, our relationships, our friendships, our ideas, our creations, our gardens, our babies. That tension is part of what makes them beautiful.

So remember, balance is not a destination. It's a moment. Don't get too caught up in trying to have everything perfectly equal. See, embrace and know the beauty that's already around you, that is you, and live from that place.
